Mabel Davidson

Mabel Evalou (Gaines) Davidson, 95, of Knobel, AR., passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at Corning Therapy and Living Center. Mrs. Davidson was born March 6, 1927 in Lawrence County, Indiana. She married W. G. Davidson December 24, 1947. During her lifetime she was employed at the Clay County Courthouse and Carter Carburetor. She was a partner in the family farming operation from the time she was married until her husband’s passing on February 8, 1997. She enjoyed many things during her lifetime including reading, sewing, gardening and canning, and spending time with her family. Mabel was a member of the Church of Christ in Corning, AR.

Survivors include son Bobby and Dena Dodd of Corning, AR.; grandchildren Kerry (Todd) VanPelt of Manchester, TN., Logan (Trent) McDaniel of Cadiz, KY., Ronda (Wayne) Scrimsher of Imperial, MO., James (Rachadaporn) Noblin of Grand Forks, ND., Kimberly (Scott) Helton of Greenville, SC.; great-grandchildren Micah and Annabelle McDaniel, Serenity and Asa Schimsher, Henry Helton, Tristan Noblin and Emily Morales; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Janie Davidson, Judy and husband Ron Noblin,  and Wanda Hammers; parents Jessie and Sylvia (Fountain) Gaines; sisters Ethel Wampler and husband Emmett, Edith Miller and husband Luke, Ada Handley, Elda Carter; and brothers Paul Gaines and wife Grace, Jesse Eugene Gaines.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Wayne Scrimsher officiating. Burial will follow the services at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, AR.

Pallbearers will be Scott Helton, Doin Bowers Jr., Trey Bowers, Cody Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Mark Williams, and honorary pallbearer Larry Catt.
