Mrs. Madeline Nichols, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Nichols was born in Brookland, AR., on January 26, 1929. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and cooking.
She married her husband of fifty years Orville E. "Gene" Nichols on November 29, 1960. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2011.
She is survived by one daughter Vickie Nichols of Corning, AR.; one sister Earline Darr of Paragould, AR.; and special friends Jim and Tammy Carner, Danny and Sharon Byars, Jeffery Byars, Lonnie and Wendy Higgs, Lucille Higgs, Russell and Vicki Adams, Matt and Freda Adams, Muriel, Jennifer, Annabelle and Roland Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Earl and Magnolia (Hargrove) Elliott; grandparents, two brothers Floyd Elliott and Albert Elliott.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy McMasters officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
