Marie Reed

Marie Reed, 91, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Reed was born in Broken Arrow, OK on June 9, 1932. She was a homemaker, and was a baker for Corning Schools for many years, she enjoyed spending time visiting with her family, sewing, and babysitting. She was a kind and pleasant lady who never left home without her smile. she was a member of the True Light Missionary Baptist Church in McDougal, AR.

She married her husband Lavern Reed on December 6, 2003. He survives, other survivors include her son Mel Arnold of Corning.; step-children Dewayne Reed of Little Rock, Debra Jean Austin of Jonesboro, and David Reed of Rogers; grandchildren Chad Arnold and Teri Fougerousse; great-grandchildren Will, Bryan, Seth, Jacob, Rose, Katy and Colby; and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Laura Mae (Sutton) Groves; her first husband Bryan “Dude” Arnold; siblings Arlie “Bud” Groves, Cecil Groves, Orvil Gene Groves, Opal Wright, Ruby Dale, Lucy Ellis and Mildred Davis.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 19, 2024 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jason Self officiating. Burial will follow in the Corning Cemetery.
