Mr. Marron Wayne Archer, 86, of Rector, AR., passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. Mr. Archer was born in Knobel, AR., on November 17, 1928. He was a retired engineer from R.C.A., he also had worked as a cost analyst, a coach and math teacher. He enjoyed serving in his church, playing music, watching Cardinal Baseball, working outdoors, bowling and spending time with family and friends. He was a 33rd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Boydsville Baptist Church.
He married his wife Betty Jean (Catt) Bowers Archer on April 8, 1999, she survives. Other survivors include his children Deborah Hartsock of Indianapolis, IN., Kara (Jim) Speckman of Indianapolis, IN., Shannon (Dale) Thomas-Brummett of Indianapolis, IN., Doin "Jr." (Lisa) Bowers of Corning, AR., Renee (Gary) Garland of Corning, AR.; brother-in-law Johnny Mac Reynolds; sister-in-law Peggy Archer; grandchildren Jason Smith, Tony (Carissa) Smith, Stevie Hartsock, Johnny Hartsock, Nicole (Matt) Holland, Kristen Archer, Aaron Polk, Izaak Thomas, Trey (Christian) Bowers, Byshea (Michael) Morgan, Chelsea Phillips; great-grandchildren Brodie Smith, Destiny Nelson, Ashlyn Booher, Braxton Smith, Mason Booher, Emily Hartsock, Dylan Randolph, Durden Polk, Damian Holland, Elias Polk, Byshea Holland, Butler Bowers; Many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Winford Marron and Hazel (Wiseman) Archer; and siblings Ruth Archer, Espirita Archer, Frances Reynolds and Glendal Archer.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Phil Bynum and Kenny Burns officiating. Burial will follow the services at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
