Mrs. Mary Jean Baxley, 77, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Baxley was born in Cache Lake, AR., on May 17, 1938. She was a retired grocery store owner and a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corning.
She married her husband of 59 years George Thomas Baxley on June 10, 1956. He survives, other survivors include one son Thomas Baxley and wife Connie of Farmington, MO.; one daughter Belinda and husband Rudy Dillard of Paragould, AR.; one brother Larry C. Smith and wife Loretta of White Lake, NC.; three sisters Remona D. and husband David Roberts of Benton, AR., Karen K. and husband Buster Boyd Griggs of Pagosa Springs, CO., Nina S. and husband Roger Conway of Paragould, AR.; three grandchildren Amy and husband Bobby Anderson, Brent Baxley and wife Tonya, Matthew Dillard and wife Ashley; three great-grandchildren Garrett Anderson, Gavin Anderson, Grant Anderson; several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orla A. and Nina Barcus (Davidson) Smith; and one brother Paul Lavelle Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Charles Colbert and Rudy Dillard officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
