Mary Frances Hovis

Mrs. Mary Hovis, 98, of Success, AR., passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan, MO. Mrs. Hovis was born in Success, AR., she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Success, AR.

She married her husband Granvil L. Hovis on June 22, 1929 in Success, AR., he preceded her in death in 1989.

She is survived by three sons Tom Hovis and wife Lucille of Success, AR., Tim Hovis and wife Barb of Doniphan, MO., Mike Hovis of Corning, AR.; two daughters Polly Dill of Newark, AR., Freida Nidaver of Davidson Junction, IL.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents Dan Baxter and Birdie Jane (Brown) Benton; one son Gary Hovis; and one daughter Maxine Goodman.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stephen Davidson officiating. Burial to follow the service in Hitt Cemetery in Success, AR. Public visitation will be Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
