Mary Jane Fennell, age 60, of Piggott, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2026, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born on July 18, 1965, in Knobel, Mary Jane devoted many years to her career as a mail carrier and also worked at Piggott Community Hospital until her retirement. She had a profound love for animals and cherished the simple joys of life, which included walking and reading. Those who were fortunate to know her will remember her warmth, quick wit, and the happiness she radiated while sharing laughter and stories with family and friends. Driven by her Christian faith, she nurtured a strong devotion to God through her regular reading of the Bible.

Mary Jane is survived by her beloved daughter, Elizabeth Fennell of Piggott; her caring mother, Ninarae Curtis of Knobel; and her dear brother, Bobby Curtis of Warm Springs. She was preceded in death by her father, Marlen Curtis.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Charles Richardson. Mary Jane will be laid to rest at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, Arkansas.

Her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
