Mary Lee Shourd

Mrs. Mary Lee Shourd, 82, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. She was born in Tipperary, AR., on November 8, 1928. She was a homemaker and a retired store manager having work many years for Dollar General Corporation. She loved spending time with and talking about her grandchildren, she enjoyed attending church and sharing her faith. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corning.

She married her husband Charles Clinton Shourd on January 14, 1950. He preceded her in death February 21, 2005.

She is survived by two sons David Shourd and wife Rita of Knobel, AR., Ronnie Shourd and wife Teresa of Corning, AR.; six grandchildren Chris Shourd, Rhonda Shourd, Charlie Shourd, Amy Walker, Scott Shourd, Heather Scrape; five great-grandchildren Dillon, Cody, Catelynn, Haley and Alex; two close friends Linda Clayton and Elaine Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Emery and Rosie (Boyd) Highfill and brother Johnny Highfill.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sunny Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will held Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
