Mrs. Maudie Elizabeth Hayes, 96, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Hayes was born in Judsonia, AR., on August 13, 1915. She was a homemaker and retired restaurant cook, she enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She married her husband William Crockett Hayes on August 28, 1935 in Fairdealing, MO. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1971.
She is survived by two sons Donald Hayes of Siloam Springs, AR., Jimmy Hayes of Corning, AR.; two daughters Stacey Battles of Corning, AR., Angie Moore of Branson, MO.; three sisters Helen Curtis of Mission, TX., Syble Ingram of Corning, AR., Betty Vinson of Corning, AR.; one brother William Fowler of Polk City, FL.; eleven grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Hayes; her parents Andrew Franklin and Suzie Jane (Bullington) Fowler; two sons Ronald Hayes on September 29, 2001 and Larry Hayes on March 28, 2000; two sisters Nellie Calhoun and Lucille Curtis.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sunny Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Public visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
