Mrs. Mava Berniece Tharp, 90, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Tharp was born in Palatka, AR., on July 15, 1921, she was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She married her husband Oren Tharp on November 29, 1937. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2003.
She is survived by three daughters Emley and husand Kenny Willis of Corning, AR., Linda and husband Buddy Leonard of Corning, AR., Vicki and husband David Cordell of Paragould, AR.; one son O.J. “Bucky” Tharp and wife Christine of Alton, MO.; one sister JoAnn and husband Bo Nesbit of Marksville, LA.; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Lloyd and Edith Pearl (Foster) Brown; one son Donnie Tharp; and two brothers Freeda and Richard Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow the service in Black Cemetery near Success. Public visitaion will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
