Mrs. Meldie Willis, 89, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Corning Therapy and Living in Corning, AR. Mrs. Willis was born in Success, AR., she homemaker and a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Moark Baptist Church.
She married her husband Wilburn Willis on October 10, 1938, he preceded her in death on April 12, 1978.
She is survived by three sons Glen Willis of Corning, AR., Norman “Bud” Willis of Farmington, MO., Kenneth Willis of Corning, AR.; two daughters Ruth Lillard of Mineral Springs, AR., Margaret Carter of Poplar Bluff, MO.; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Wilburn Willis; daughter Imogene White; parents William and Cordelia (Crossen) Davis; two brothers Henry and Carl Davis; and one sister Lee Eller Stroud.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 12:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Troy Martin officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
