Mike Hays

Mr. Michael Keith Hays, age 63 of Paragould, AR., passed from this life on Sunday, September 6, 2020. He was born May 27, 1957, in Saint Louis, MO., to Elvin Jr. and Melvieda (Willson) Hays.

Mike Hays was a devoted husband, father and friend. The driving force in his life was his faith and his family. He believed that when you put God first everything else will fall into place.

Mike worked over 27 years at Basler Electric, before finishing his working career as a licensed phlebotomist for Gamma Healthcare. Mike enjoyed attending church, gospel singing, doing yard work, going to flea markets, riding four-wheelers and spending time with his family. He attended Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Paragould.

As his health began to fail he found comfort in his daily conversations with his family and doing crossword puzzles. He especially cherished his morning and evening conversations with his parents and children. He would always ask about everyone else even though it was clear he was declining and in pain. His passing has truly left an emptiness in our hearts. However, I have to believe that he would say “If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear.”

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sharon Hays of the home; one son, Bradley Hays and wife Arlene of Mountain Home, AR.; one daughter, LaBreeska Hays of Summit, AR.; parents Elvin and Melvieda of Corning, AR.; one brother, Dennis Hays of Corning, AR.; one sister, Rebecca Nidever of Pocahontas, AR.; and one grandson, Cody of Mountain Home, AR. Also surviving are numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Ruby Hays; Clarence and Letha Wilson; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Nidever and one uncle, Austin “Mousie” Hays.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Jason Adams and Donnie Fowler officiating. Burial will follow the services at Cochran Cemetery in Harviell, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
