Mildred Turner

Mrs. Mildred Turner, 77, of Peach Orchard, AR., passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Turner was born in Peach Orchard, AR., on November 17, 1943. She was retired from Saint Anthony Hospital in Illinois and from the City of Peach Orchard where she served as City Clerk. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, was an avid Saint Louis Cardinals fan and loved spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

On May 12,1961, she married Burnis Turner. They were married 59 years prior to her death. Other survivors include her children Burnis (Penny) Turner of LaValle, WI., Vardman Lee (Shelly) Turner of Rockton, IL., Verda Ellen (Richard) Barclay of South Beloit, IL., and Carrie Ann (John Gilbee) Turner of Paragould, AR.; brothers Thomas “Pug” Cray, Jr. of Fenton, MO., Harold Leon Cray of Benton Harbor, MI.; sisters Dorothy Lyons of Cedar Hill, MO., Kathy Johnson of Interlochen, MI.; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Huey and Orchis Ellen (Bassett) Cray; brother Dennis Cray; and sister Patricia Varney.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 9, 2020  at 1:00 PM at Pirtle Cemetery in Peach Orchard, AR., with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating.
