Mrs. Virginia Murriel Hester, 76, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Hester was born in Moark, AR., on March 3, 1938. She was a bookkeeper and homemaker, she enjoyed playing the harmonica, playing cards, and going dancing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corning, AR.
She married her husband of 40 years Bud Hester on July 12, 1958. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1998.
She is survived by two sons Steve Hester of Ward, AR., Greg Hester of Sherwood, AR.; one daughter Diana Pennington of Jonesboro, AR.; six grandchildren Stephanie Hester, Chris Hester, Nick Hester, Scott Henley, Aaron Pennington, Joseph Pennington; eight great-grandchildren Austen, Connor, Kyler, Keegan, Kaedyn, Teagan, Taryn, and Morgan Jo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents Earl Eugene and Clara Mae (Leonard) Eagan; brother Leon Eagan and sister Earlene Podalka.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kent Modlin officiating. Burial will follow the services at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno, AR. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
