Norma Cherry

Norma Cherry, 93, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Cherry was born March 28, 1931 in Reyno, AR. She was retired from Corning School District where she was a secretary in the office of the superintendent. Norma loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. She was of the Methodist faith.

On May 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert Niles Cherry. They were married 58 years prior to his death on May 11, 2012.

Survivors include her daughter Cynthia (Joe) Crowson of Jonesboro, AR.; grandchild Cherry Brooke (Jonathon) Kellett; great grandchildren Isabella Bobbitt and Paxton Kellett; sister Shelby Steimel of Pocahontas, AR.; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Rosie Mae (Barclift) Edington; brothers Donnie and Jerry Edington; and sister Hassell Scott.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 at2:00 PM in thet Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Larry Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno, AR.
