Mrs. Norma Ometa Headley, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs Headley was born in Corning, AR., on July 10, 1925. She was a long time sales clerk at Wood's Department Store and Thomas Brother's Hardware Store. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Corning where she served as Church Treasurer for 50 plus years.
She married her husband Clarence E. "Jim" Headley, Jr. on October 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2012.
She is survived by one son Gene Headley of Corning, AR.; two sisters Audrey Adams of Huntsville, AL., Dorothy Cockrum of Springfield, MO.; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; her parents James Aubry and Bessie (LaRue) Simpson and one sister Josephine Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy McMasters officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Saturday, February 11, 2011 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
