Mr. Norman Oscar Handwork, 79, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Handwork was born in Moark, AR., on April 26, 1939. He was a carpenter, farmer and cattleman until he retired and then worked at Black’s Building Center in Corning, AR. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and watching Saint Louis Cardinals baseball. He attended Success Church of Christ.
He married his wife of 58 years Mrs. Edwina Faye (Seawel) Handwork on May 22, 1960,she survives. Other survivors include children Angie and husband Jim McGrew of Corning, AR., Shelby (John Marret) Handwork of Corning, AR.; brother Fred Handwork and wife Edith of Pocahontas, AR.; sister Alice and husband Charles Karow of Corning, AR.; grandchildren Brit Bippus and wife Hailey, Cody McGrew and wife Magen, Kylie Arnold, Jessica and husband Matthew Beal, Nick McGrew and wife Brooklyn, Tyler Benton and wife Rachel; great-grandchildren Matthew, Garrett, Abby, Jordan, Cali, Aiden, John Luke, Anniston, Elizabeth; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Joy and Lethel Orrus (Ermert) Handwork; daughter Catherine Marie (Handwork) Benton; great-grandchildren Paislee, Penelope and Liam McGrew.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce McGrew officiating. Burial will follow the services at Williams Cemetery in Corning, AR. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
