Norman F. Hicks

Mr. Norman F. Hicks, 94 of Jerseyville, IL., went to Heaven on Monday, July 13, 2015. Mr. Hicks was born in Corning, AR., on February 20, 1921. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II as a Technical Sergeant. He became a Christian while attending Pine Lawn Baptist Church in Saint Louis, MO., and was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Jerseyville, IL., at the time of his death.
He married his wife of 62 years Edna M. Downs on September 7, 1946, She preceded him in death June 2009.
He is survived by five children Fred Hicks, Diana Hicks, Curtis Hicks and wife Sammie, Brian Hicks and wife Barb, and Cathy and husband Patrick Foy: eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be conducted Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Williams Cemetery just north of Corning, AR., under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions by sent to The Missouri Baptist Childrens Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Rd., Bridgeton, MO 63044
