Mr. Norman Dean “Pop” Cooper, 73, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Mr. Cooper was born in Grafton, IL., on July 6, 1939. He was a produce salesman who enjoyed hauling watermelons and going to the farm. He was of the Baptist faith.
He married his wife Joyce Lou (Rucker) Cooper on September 24, 1956. She survives. Other survivors include one son Micheal D. Cooper of Doniphan, MO.; three daughters Pamela Welch of Lakeland, FL., Glenda Emery of Currentview, MO., Brenda Whitten of Wewahitchka, FL.; two brothers Joe Cooper of Grover Hill, OH., Lannie Cooper of Winter Haven, FL.; three sisters Deana Blunk of Corning, AR., Barbara DeBord of Corning, AR., Sharon Cooper of Corning, AR.; six grandchildren Toby Meredith, Jason Grubb, Dustin Grubb, Justin Hutchison, Kendra Hutchison, Laramie Whitten and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Norman Douglas and Lorene (Eakers) Cooper; and one brother Jason Cooper.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Halcomb officiating. Burial will follow the services Beech Grove Cemetery in Beech Grove, AR. Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
