Mr. Obie O’neal Duncan, 91, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, AR. Mr. Duncan was born in Hickory Ridge, AR., on December 29, 1929. He was retired from rice and soybean farming, but during his life he had worked in construction, a heavy equipment operator, a cattle rancher and the Corning Street Superintendent. He enjoyed camping, deer hunting, trout fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Success Church of Christ.
He married his wife Mrs. Carolyn (Sadler) Duncan on June 26, 1993, she survives. Other survivors include his children Peggy Hart, Michael (Linda) Duncan, Sandy (Chuck) Guthrie, Tina Duncan, Kim (Dale) Curtis; stepson Tony (Leigh) Williams; sister Helen Owen; and as he always said, “a bobtruck load” of descendants: including nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents O.G. and Stella (Holleman) Duncan, his first wife Elsie (Smalley) Duncan; siblings W.L. Duncan, Ben Duncan, Beatrice Norwood, Audrey Yvonne Dicus, and Margie Cox; grandchildren Jamie Forrester, Stephen Fraine, Jr., and Vanessa Fraine.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitation will be family only. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:30 AM in the Corning Cemetery with Bruce McGrew officiating.
