Ona “Faye” Sharp, 91, a resident of Klamath Falls, OR., passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019. Funeral services will be held at O’Hair-Wards Funeral Chapel in Klamath Falls on Sunday August 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
She was born on September 19, 1927 in Knobel, AR., to Albert and Carrie (Stewart) Michles. Faye spent her childhood in Arkansas until she met her future husband in that area. They were married June 1, 1955.
Faye and Thurston moved to California around 1958, and lived in Tranquility and Riverdale. Thurston farmed and Ona waitressed, helped with the farm where she hand-picked cotton and weeded. They moved to Klamath Falls in 1967 and Thurston worked for Weyerhaeuser for 22 years until his retirement. Thurston passed away December 31, 1993. Faye was a mother and a homemaker who loved camping, fishing and enjoyed bowling for over 50 years, playing in many leagues.
She is survived by her son Billy Sharp; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Paul Brooks; grandchildren Scott and Patty Brooks, Lee Ann and Rhyce Schafer, Lance and Visnja Brooks, and Brian Eayrs; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thurston; brothers Edwin Michles, Howards Michles, and Fred Herring; and sisters Gladys and Bessie Herring.
Faye will be interred beside her husband and her parents in Corning Cemetery in Corning, AR., on graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
