Opal Hamlett

Opal Hamlett, 102, of Winnebago, IL., passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Prairie View Assisted Living in Winnebago, IL. Mrs. Hamlett was born July 22, 1922. She worked as an Avon representative for 55 years. Opal enjoyed flower gardening and taking care of others. She was Church of Christ in faith.

Survivors include her son Dan Hamlett, grandchildren Kirsin (Michael) Carrigan, and Erin (Robert) Freeman: great-grandchildren Kennan, Kiah, Larson, Braylon, Tobin, Lily and Eli; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Levi Hamlett in January 1969, parents Oscar Orlington “OO” and Zilla (Goodman) Haskins, and brother Jewell Haskins.

Graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Corning Cemetery with Earl Ladyman officiating.
