Osel Edington, aged 102, of Corning, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Born on January 5, 1924, on the family farm east of Corning to Oscar and Birdie Bennett, Mrs. Edington was cherished for her deep devotion to her faith and her enduring love for her family. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Corning and found great joy in spending time with her loved ones.
On June 24, 1944, she married Woodrow Edington, sharing 40 years together before his passing. Osel’s legacy is reflected in the hearts of her children, Bill (Rita) Edington and Sue (Terry) Zipfel, all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; her grandchildren Stephanie Irsh, Matt Zipfel, and B.J. Zipfel; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 12 noon in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., officiated by J.M. Edington, with burial taking place at the Corning Cemetery.
Matt Zipfel, B.J. Zipfel, Will Miller, Carter Zipfel, Bennett Zipfel, Jay Morman, and Slylis Stone have the honor of serving as pallbearers.
Osel Edington will be fondly remembered for the legacy of history and love she has imparted to her family and community.
