Mrs. Parelee F. Poyner, 96, of Morris, IL., passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Morris, IL. Mrs. Poyner was born in Worth, AR., on March 1, 1916. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, spending time with family and friends, she was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Morris, IL.
She married her husband Oval Poyner on May 10, 1936 in Missouri. They spent most of their lives together in Success, AR., and Mazon, IL. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1994.
She is survived by one daughter Dawn Bulian of Seneca, IL.; five sons Orris Poyner and wife Norma of London, KY., Evert Poyner and wife Ruth of Pittsfield, IL., Johnnie Poyner and wife Donna of Seneca, IL., Ronnie and wife Trudy of Mazon, IL., Lonnie Poyner of Morris, IL; one brother Vernon Arnold of Woodward, AR.; two sisters Opal Yeary of Corning, AR., Yvonne and husband Sam Hamby of Davenport, IA.; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents George and Bessie (Rogers) Arnold.; four sons Donald Poyner, Eddie Oval Poyner, a set of twins in infancy; many brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August, 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce McGrew officiating. Burial will follow the services in Hitt Cemetery in Success, AR. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., in Morris, IL. Visitation in Corning will be held Saturday, August, 25, 2012 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
