Pauletta Burns

Pauletta Burns, 61, of Poplar Bluff, MO., passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mrs. Burns was born December 5, 1960 in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was the coordinator of academic and student services for Southeast Missouri State University on the Three Rivers Community College Campus in Poplar Bluff. Pauletta held 2 master’s degrees in addition to her bachelor’s degree and had worked in higher education for more than 32 years. She enjoyed camping, baking and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Green Forest Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff.

On January 17, 1981, she married Dewayne Burns, He survives. They were married 41 years prior to her passing. Other survivors include her brother Lonnie (Dawn) Hanner of Poplar Bluff, MO.; sisters Norma Jean (Joe) Calhoun of Jonesboro, AR., and Donna (Rick) Holden of Poplar Bluff, MO.; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Galey and Wilma (Arnold) Hanner; brother Ronnie Hanner; and sister Carolyn Sue Luttrell.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel, funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Adam Noles officiating. Burial will follow Hosea Cemetery, Knobel, AR.
