Mrs. Peggy C. Allyn Tafoya, 81, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Kaufman, TX., after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Mrs. Tafoya was born the daughter of Sidney and Ola Mae Allyn in Boydsville, AR., on October 19, 1933.
On Sept. 29, 1962 she married Paul Tafoya. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. As an evangelist alongside her husband, she spent 45 years of her life spreading and teaching the word of God under Arm of the Lord Ministries, a corporation founded by her and her husband. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmommy, and great-grandmommy. She was a true inspiration and loved by all that knew her.
Survivors are husband Paul Tafoya of the home; children Randy (Gail) Whelchel of Rockford, IL., Bradley Whelchel of Kaufman, TX., Becky (Jerry) Sharpe of Corning, AR., Paula Tafoya and Timothy Tafoya both of Kaufman, TX.; step-children Debra Hughes, Steve (Jeannie) Tafoya, and Tammy (David) Kilgore all of Palatka, FL.; brother Bill (Nina) Allyn of Knobel, AR.; sisters Betty Mansker and Barbara Woolard both of Corning, AR.; grandchildren Bridget Creswell, Derrick Whelchel, Kristi and Ashley Lewis, Terani, Alexandra, Matthew, Steve, Joshua, and Chris Tafoya, Cameron, Jacob, and Jamey Kilgore, Hunter Hughes; 17 great-grandchildren; several nephews; a niece and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons at birth; siblings Lula Mae McElyea, Jim and Bob Allyn; and grandson Matthew Tafoya.
Graveside funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Corning Cemetery with Pastor Paul Cavanah officiating.
