Peggy Archer

Peggy Sue Archer, 83, of Corning peacefully passed away from this life into the arms of her precious Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at home in Corning, AR. Peggy was born in Peach Orchard, AR., on January 31, 1937.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glendal Ray Archer, who was the love of her life. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Nell (Standifor) Lindley of Peach Orchard and sisters Virginia Lydick and Alba Holt.

She is survived by daughters Debbie Hutchinson of Moore, OK., Candy McCarthy of Hot Springs, AR., and Angie Harmon of Fort Smith, AR.; sons Kendall Archer of Eutawville, SC., and Kelly Archer of Moore, OK., 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The community of Corning was an integral part of her life. She served as deputy county clerk for Clay county for 24 years. She was a supporter of all things CHS, an avid fan of the Bobcats and Razorbacks but a most devoted fan of any activity of her children and grandchildren. Vivacious and fun-loving, her friendly smile and feisty quick-wit endeared her to everyone who knew her.

But it was her deep love for the Lord Jesus that shaped every aspect of her life and she spent her life in service to Him. As an active member of Corning General Baptist Church, she faithfully taught God's word and served in every capacity she could.

She tirelessly and selflessly served and encouraged the sick and the hurting, provided meals and lodging for countless ministers, missionaries, family and friends. Lavishing unconditional love and hugs on all. Her faith was unwavering; her life inspiring. She lived for the glory of God.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with John Hutchinson, Will Harmon and Jeff Crain officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, November 16, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
