Pete Karnes

Mr. William Norman “Pete” Karnes, 82, of McDougal, AR., passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Karnes was born in Campbell, MO., on February 26, 1936. He was retired from Darling Store Fixtures. He was an avid bee keeper who enjoyed gardening and music. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States National Guard and was a member of Hickoria Missionary Baptist Church.

He married his wife of 48 years Mrs. Betsy Jane (Walker) Karnes on June 14, 1963. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2011.

He is survived by his sister Patricia Isbell of Jonesboro, AR.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Betty (Benson) Karnes, two sisters Christine Smith, Peggy Robertson and his brother Gaylon Karnes.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with reverend Owen Little officiating. Burial will follow the services at Gravel Hill Cemetery near Saint Francis, AR. Visitation will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
