Mr. Pete Richardson Kavy, 81, of Knobel, AR., passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at Saint Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Kavy was born in Missouri on July 13, 1936. He worked at a variety of places and jobs during his life, including the River Boat, Rorex Store, and Riceland Foods. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. He enjoyed cutting wood, fishing, 4-wheeler riding, cooking, gardening, and hunting. He attended Pocahontas Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Wilma Geneva Marie (Rice) Kavy; son Tommy Kavy of St. Louis, MO.; sister Anna Cannon of Dexter, MO.; five grandchildren Jonas Vanpool, Rachel Grissom, Kenneth Holland, Jessica Holland, Jordan Holland; eight great-grandchildren Alec, Clayton, Noah, MaKayla, Jayla, Jaylen, JazaLynn, and Jacobe.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth (Roy) Kavy; his daughter Sheila Holland; 13 brothers and sisters; and parents-in-law Eldon and Lidy Mae Rice.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Abraham Velazquez officiating. Burial will follow the services at Richwoods Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
