Ralph Johnson

Mr. Ralph Lee Johnson, 82, of Knobel, AR., passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Johnson was born in Black Oak, AR., on January 24, 1937. He was a truck driver for 45 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing pool and rescuing dogs. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Corning, AR.

He married his wife of 49 years Mrs. Leona Ethel (Boyd) Johnson on May 1, 1970. She survives, other survivors include his children Gary Johnson of Rutherfordton, NC., Anna Ruth Johnson of Rutherfordton, NC., Vickie Lynn Johnson of Rockford, IL., Jennie Johnson of Rockford, IL.; step-children Winona Swagger of North Port, FL., Timothy Grissom of Knobel, AR.; brother Donald Johnson of Ridott, IL.; sisters Bertha Muier of Clarkridge, AR., Edna Light of Clarkridge, AR; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil Joseph and Alice Ruth (Standage) Johnson; a son Joe Johnson; and grandson Aaron Grissom.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral home Chapel with Reverend Cam Stevens officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 7, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
