Rex Phillips

Mr. Donald Rex Phillips, 87, of Corning, AR., went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab in Cabot, AR. Mr. Phillips was born in Boydsville, AR., on December 7, 1927. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Boydsville.

He married the love of his life and wife of 51 years Mildred Lavern (Woods) Phillips on November 10, 1951, she preceded him in death on July 13, 2003.

He is survived by two sons Kevin Phillips and wife Kim of Cabot, AR., Scott Phillips and wife Holly of Hope, AR.; one sister Wilma Allen of Pollard, AR.; four grandchildren Kirk, Kara, Nathan, Natalie; two great-grandchildren Jacob and Quinn.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents Odis and Georgia (Bradberry) Phillips and one sister Joyce Locke.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:30 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ernie Rinks officiating. Burial will follow the service at Salem Cemetery in Boydsville. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
