Mrs. Rhoda Mae Payne, 82, of Corning, AR. passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Payne was a homemaker and helped with work on the farm, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corning, AR.
She married her husband Willie Payne in 1942 he preceded her in death in 1984.
She is survived by three daughters Earline Sharp of Brockwell, AR., Geraldine Calhoun of McDougal, AR., Goldie Loggins of Brockwell, AR.; four brothers James Wesley Beckwith of Doniphan, MO., Ernie Beckwith of Cottage Hill, IL., Daniel Beckwith of Greenville, IL., Doyle Elmer Beckwith of Poplar Bluff, MO.; four sisters Gertrude Hendon of Ellington, MO., Louetta Maulding of Pollard, AR.,
Betty Knowles of Pollard, AR., Madlyn Wright,; eight grandchildren Tina Blagg, Jeff Loggins, Duwayne Ray, Gregory Ray, Julia Ranesweiler, Rebecca McCranie, Logan Cozart, Ricky Calhoun; eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Payne, her parents James Beckwith and Dottie (Ball) Holifield, and her father Louie Holifield, two brothers Frank Beckwith, Lawrence Beckwith, four sisters Sylvie King, Dovie Yow, Sara Starks, Zora Ray and one great-grandson Todd Short.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Sunny Williams and Owen Little officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal, AR. Public visitation will be Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
