Roscoe “Dee" Eldridge, 85, of Elizabeth, AR passed away on October 8, 2022 in the comfort of his home.

Roscoe was born November 7, 1936 in Leachville, AR. He courageously served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He continued to serve his community as a member of the Hand Cove Volunteer Fire Department and the Modern Woodmen of America. He was also a member of the VFW. A man of few words, he loved the tranquility of Norfork Lake. He enjoyed fishing, hosting family fish fries, especially birdwatching, feeding his hummingbirds, and gardening.

Roscoe leaves behind his children Patricia (Richard) Miller of Machesney Park, IL and Roscoe (Heidi) Eldridge, Jr. of South Beloit, IL; beloved sister Nima McFatridge of Elizabeth, AR; grandchildren Meghan (Peter), Christopher, Cassandra, Samuel, Michael, Mackenzie; great-grandchildren Jaedyn, Trenton, Logan, Jaleighia, Malachi, Lulu, Samson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe Franklin and Goldie Jewel (Wilson) Eldridge; brothers Cecil, J. W., Orbra, Bill and Benton Eldridge; and sisters Becky Higgins, Dorothy Peters and Louise Hart, grandaughter, Mallory Dianna Miller.

At Roscoe’s request, the family will arrange a celebration of life with loved ones on a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to hang hummingbird feeders in Roscoe’s honor.
