Ruby Gilbee

Mrs. Ruby Alene Gilbee, 87, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Gilbee was born in Colt, AR., on February 8, 1929. She had worked as a Nurse's Aide in Washington state before moving to Corning. She later retired as head dietician from Corning Hospital where she worked for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and taking care of her animals. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Corning.

She is survived by four of her children Ellen Bradley of Tahoka, TX., Donna Thomas of Corning, AR., Gary Thomas of Corning, AR., Curt Thomas of Corning, AR.; sister Kathern Webb of Tuckerman, AR.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three husbands including the father of her children Cleamon L.E. “Dock” Thomas, John Ernest, and Les Gilbee; two children Phyllis Gross and Cleatus Thomas; her parents Greenberry Essary and Berdie Alene (Matthews) Smith; five sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce McGrew officiating. Burial will be in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, AR., at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017
from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
