Mrs. Ruby Hicks Brashaw, 91, of Lawton, OK., formerly of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, OK. Mrs. Bradshaw was born in Clay County, AR., she worked for many years at the Ben Franklin Store and also Basler Electric Company. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She married Earl M. Hicks on September 29, 1934 in Datto, AR. He preceded her in death February 21, 1989. She then married James. A. Bradshaw on November 26, 1991, he preceded her in death on Febraury 25, 2005.
She is survived by her son Darrell Hicks and wife Susan of Green Valley, AZ; daughter Janet and husband Dwight Fritts of Elgin, OK; 3 granddaughters Melissa Fritts of Lawton, OK., Julie and husband Mike Green of Cache, OK., and Lorelei Hicks of Tampa, FL.; 2 great-grandchildren Thomas Michael and Lauren Michelle Green of Cache, OK.; sister Dorothy Evans of Corning, AR.; an aunt Julia Watson Hicks of Pocahontas, AR.; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents W.R. and Hattie (Watson) Huggins; brothers Earl Huggins, A.C. Huggins; and sister Iva O'Kelley.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with John Bradshaw and Earl Ladyman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
