Russell “Buddy” Leonard, 76, of Corning passed away November 3, 2021 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Leonard was born February 13, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was a retired farmer who enjoyed playing dominoes and watching Cardinals baseball. He coached PeeWee basketball in Corning for 14 years. Buddy was a member of Corning Church of Christ.
On August 16, 1966, he married Linda Tharp. They recently celebrated their 55 th wedding anniversary. Other survivors include their children Melissa (Chad) Woolard of Corning, Julie Allmon of Paragould, and Eric (Sarah) Leonard of Corning; sisters Judy Smith of Corning, Donna (Todd) Harmon of Mountain Home, and Charlotte (Ron) Rahm of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Kayla (Kirby) Curtis, Nicholas (Samantha) Allmon, Clayton and Carter Leonard; and great grandchild Shepherd Allmon.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Marion and Bonnie Lou (Pulliam) Leonard; and brothers-in-law Dennis Smith and Frank Oldham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Noah’s Ark Pre-School, 500 W 4th St., Corning, AR 72422.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with James Johnston officiating. Burial will be at Black Cemetery near Success.
