Ruth Cavitt, 93, of Corning, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2026, at Corning Therapy and Living Center. Born on August 27, 1933, in Corning, Arkansas, Ruth was a devoted homemaker who also worked at Basler Electric, Sheeks, and the Shoe Factory. She cherished sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. Ruth was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Corning.

She married Thurman Cavitt on August 29, 1976, who predeceased her on January 22, 2024.

Ruth is survived by her children, Lynn Pierce of Cabot, Arkansas, and Sherry (Terry) Wally of McDougal, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Matt, Kristin, Kandi, and Donald; as well as several great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Daniel and Samatha Gertrude (Hart) Cooper; her son, David Pierce; and her siblings, Naomi Housdan, Mary Hoover, Gerald, and Jimmy Cooper.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at Hitt Cemetery in Success, Arkansas, with Bro. Brian McDade officiating.
