Shirley May Ford, 85, of Piedmont, MO., formerly of Corning, AR., went to be with her Lord and Savior and her soulmate, J.F. Ford, Jr., June 8, 2021. Shirley was born October 4, 1935 in Success, AR., to the late John H. Calvert and Ethel May (Turner) Calvert May. Shirley attended church with her family at Friendship Baptist Church in Piedmont. She always enjoyed needlepoint, embroidery, gardening and spending time with her family. She will be forever loved and remembered by her legacy of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson. She loved babies and was blessed to be able to spoil and love her great-great-grandson.
On February 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to her soulmate, J.F. Ford, Jr. He preceded her to heaven on August 3, 2010.
Survivors include their daughters Debra and husband Jerry Spinks of Piedmont, MO., and Janet and husband Mike Simmons of Jonesboro, AR.; grandchildren Michelle (Sam) Holmes, Tim (Stacey) Spinks, James Guthery and Marc (Ariel) Guthery; great-grandchildren Taylor, Tristan (Allison), Jesse (Kelli), Amy and Joey Holmes, Caitlyn and Jacob Spinks, Mathius, Adyline, Coda, Augie and Ellie Guthery, Autumn (Scott), Halle, Hannah and Gracie Twidwell; great-great-grandson Levi Holmes; sister-in-law Gladys Calvert of Tempe, AZ.; and Natalie Jones and children of Little Rock, AR., who were very dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother Gene Calvert; sister Mary Collier; and step-father Joseph May.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Hutto and Reverend Larry Cockman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 13, from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
