Sidney Mcfarlin

Mr. Sidney Earl McFarlin, 82, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at home with his loving family. Mr. McFarlin was born in Monette, AR., on March 20, 1935. He was a retired farmer and agent with American General Insurance Company. He enjoyed bowling, fishing with his grandson and watching ball games. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of the Grassylead Church of Christ.

He married his wife of 60 years Mrs. Shirley Ann (Green) McFarlin on March 31, 1957. She survives, other survivors include his daughter Tonya and husband Bryan Johnson of Pocahontas, AR.; two grandsons Carson Cole Johnson of Pocahontas, AR., Justin Johnson and wife Mackenzie of Blytheville, AR.; two great-grandchildren Jaxon and Coraline Johnson; two brother Leonard Darr and wife Mercy of Mountain Home, AR., Larry Darr and wife Shelia of Jonesboro, AR.; two sisters Norma and husband CJ White of Corning, AR., Mary Pelts of Mountain Home, AR.; three brothers-in-law Raymond Cozad, Larry Gardner, Bill Holcomb; lots of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Glinvle Ray and Velma Lee (Gibson) McFarlin, and Louise McFarlin; his son Toby McFarlin; one sister Margie Cozad; two brothers Dennis McFarlin and Kenny Darr.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Ladyman officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 frim 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
