Obituary

Sue Ramsey, 90, of Corning, passed away October 25, 2026, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and a lifetime of memories to treasure.

Born December 27, 1935, in Datto, Sue worked hard throughout her life, her greatest joy was her family. She was proud of her children, loved watching her family grow through the generations, and treasured the special bonds she shared with those she loved.

Sue also had a love for traveling and enjoyed seeing new places, but the beach held a special place in her heart. Those who knew Sue will remember her love for her family, her enjoyment of life, and the memories made during the time they shared together. She was also a member of Success First Baptist Church.

On June 25, 1955, Sue married Charles Ramsey, beginning a marriage that would span 49 years. Together, they built a life and raised a family before his passing on September 22, 2004. Though she missed him in the years that followed, the love and memories they shared remained an important part of her life.

Sue’s family was her greatest legacy. She is survived by her children, Pam (Nick) Esparza of Cherokee Village, Verna (Randall) Godwin and Steve (Paula) Ramsey, both of Corning; grandchildren, Teri Nelson, Nick Steele, Angie Muldoon, Nick Esparza, Barton Esparza, Cory Godwin, Caleb Godwin, Amber Broadway, Zach Ramsey, Dustin Ramsey, April Allison, Brandi Crouse, Toby Gwinn, Josh Gwinn, and Adam Gwinn; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

In addition to her husband, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan (Randy) Gwinn; her parents, Dude and Reva (Moore) Dilbeck; her grandson, Derek Gwinn; and her great-grandchild, Alyssa Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Zach Ramsey, Dustin Ramsey, Nick Steele, Cory Godwin, Caleb Godwin and Wes Allison.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, beginning at 2 p.m. at Ermert Funeral Home and continuing until the graveside service. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno, with Herbert Ellis officiating, burial to follow.

Sue’s life was marked by the love she gave her family, the years of memories she created, and the simple joys she held dear. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.
