Susan Hovis

Susan Hovis, 76, of Reyno, AR., passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at home. Mrs. Hovis was born July 26, 1949 in Palatka, AR., She was retired from Pro Group in Pocahontas, AR. Susan loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and attending church. She was a member of Reyno First Baptist Church.

On August 7, 1965, she married Lesley Hovis. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children Lynn (Darwin) Barber of Reyno, AR., Darrell (Niki Morgan) Hovis of Muldrow, OK., and Melissa (Thomas) Freeman of Jonesboro; AR.; sisters Donna (Danny) Kemper of Pocahontas, AR., Sue (Patrick) Hovis of Ravenden, AR., Sandra McCloud of St. Louis, MO., and Bonnie Jackson of Pocahontas; AR.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Hovis Hill; parents William and Maggie (Mendenhall) Harpole; brothers Junior, Thomas and Billy Don Harpole; and sisters Bernice Harpole, Mabel Harpole, Mary Jane Williams and Pansy Pence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brenda’s Table, 800 S Bay Dr., Bay, AR 72411.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Patrick Hovis officiating. Burial will follow the services at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno, AR .
