Mrs. Sylvia Burton, 82, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday May 23, 2015 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Burton was born in Vanndale, AR., on April 14, 1933. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, crochet, painting, reading and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
She married her husband of 34 years Donald E. Burton on January 30, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1989.
She is survived by five children Donna (Phelan) Burton of Corning, AR., Larry E. Burton of Paragould, AR., Patricia D. Bland of Oak Grove, AR., Homer D. Burton of McDougal, AR., Sandi J. Nutty of Anchorage, AK.; three brothers Derl Furtell of Wynne, AR., Dewayne Futrell of Enid, OK., Lane Futrell of Mountain View, AR.; two sisters Nana Sue Griffen of Wynne, AR., Joyce Wyatt of Rochelle, IL.; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Dalton and Lena (Poindexter) Futrell; one son Carl Burton and a sister Martha Gillaspy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
