Teddy Joe Townsend

Mr. Teddy Joe Townsend, 89, of Knobel, AR., passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Townsend was born in Clay County, AR., on August 8, 1931. He was a farmer who enjoyed hunting, fishing, working and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army.

He married Mary Lou (Land) Townsend on March 23, 1957. They were married 57 years prior to her death on November 28, 2014.

Survivors include his daughters Linda and husband Bill Stormes of Knobel, AR., Susan Harper of Sedgwick, AR., Vickie and husband Terry Robinson of Corning, AR., Tammy and husband Alan Collins of Ravenden, AR.; sisters Diane (Donnie) Briney, Georgene (Tom) Tierney; grandchildren Autumn Stormes (Kelly), Bill Stormes Jr. (Erika), Matt Harper (Taralee), Eli Harper (Jennifer), Sara and husband Steven Clark, Seth Robinson, Joe Collins and wife Natalie, Lane Collins; great-grandchildren Ryland Bounds, Hailey Bounds, Jade Bounds, Kendra Burton, Lana Burton, Khaleesi Stormes, Elise Yarbrough Drew Yarbrough, Zailey Hall, Eleanor Clark, Lynnley Collins, Annadail Collins and Zayn Harper; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys (Hancock) Townsend; brothers H. C. and Ollie Townsend; grandson Joey Ray Townsend Stormes; and son-in-law Ethan Harper.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Rudy Dillard officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday March 6, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
