Mr. Willard Ray "Tex" "Bud" Thompson, 75, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mr. Thompson was born is Success, AR., on October 3, 1939. He was the owner of Tex’s Body Shop in Corning. He enjoyed playing and watching golf, playing pool, watching television, especially old westerns. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, and he was a member of Old Reyno Freewill Baptist Church in Reyno, AR.
He married his wife of 55 years Darlene (Venable) Thompson on November 14, 1959. She survives, other survivors are one brother Danny Thompson of Currentview, MO.; nieces and nephews Donna and husband Gary Williams of Mountain Home, AR., Dana Lively of Mountain Home, AR., Dawn and husband Randall Burkheart of Corning, AR., Devon Wolner of Corning, AR., Amber and husband Phillip Shipman of Corning, AR., Melissa and husband Jeremy Bass of Corning, AR., Danny Thompson, II, of Corning, AR., and Jeff White of Piedmont, MO.: several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Haskell "Tack" and Eva (Fann) Thompson; two sisters Neoma (Thompson) White and Viola (Thompson) Leonard.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
