Thomas L. Fairchild

Mr. Thomas L. "Big T" Fairchild, 81, of Paragould, AR., passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Fairchild was born in Brookings, AR., on December 17, 1931. He was was a farmer, truck driver, business owner, and worked for Farm Service. He enjoyed playing guitar, playing Rook, listening to blue grass music, and talking on his ham radio. He was a member of Newton Street Church of Christ in Paragould, AR.

He married his wife of 64 years Lavada Jean (Fox) Fairchild on November 12, 1948. She survives. Other survivors include four sons Thomas Fairchild and wife Deborah of Jonesboro, AR., James Fairchild and wife Paulette of Pinson, TN., Ron Fairchild and wife Lynn of Jackson, TN., David Fairchild and wife Myrna of Desoto, MO.; two daughters Brenda Fairchild of Paragould, AR., Sandy and husband Mike Brown of Paragould, AR.; one brother A.W. Fairchild of Batesville, AR.; six sisters Wanda Pate of Cash, AR., Pat Arnold of Bowling Green, KY., Rosetta Cannon of Paragould, AR., Nona Penny of Paragould, AR., Josie Vines of Paragould, AR., Shirley Hart of Paragould, AR.; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Augusta and Mazie Mae (Davis) Fairchild; two brothers Ulys Fairchild, Harry Fairchild, Jr.; one sister Dephane Bullington; grandchild Aaron Fairchild and great grandchild MaKenna Jane Fairchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends L.R. Smith and Barry Joiner officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
