Tina Elder

Ernestine “Tina” Elder, 94, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs. Elder was born in Saltillo, TN., on December 1, 1929. Before retiring she was a long-time cook at Park Elementary School. She enjoyed studying her Bible, going to church, sewing, and spending time with her children, grand and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Living Word Fellowship in Corning, AR.

She married her husband of 28 years Gene Elder on May 25, 1996. She had previously been married to Donald Butler who preceded her in death in October of 1985.

She is survived by children Ricky Lee Yandell of Corning, AR., Derinda (Gary) Sheppard of Harviell, MO., Kathy Butler of Corning, AR., Marilyn (Jerry) Hudson of Aurora, IL., and Richard Smith of Oklahoma; sister Naomi Ruth Loyd of Jonesboro, AR.; grandchildren Wesley Harmon, Gary (Pat) Dillinger, Tina (Eric), Jaime Day, Rebecca (Bill) Laws, Adam Yandell, Staci Ferry, and Christopher Hudson; great-grandchildren Nathan (Gracie) Dillinger, Skyla Laws, Liam, Max Babbitt, Jace Dillinger, Alex Day, Gene Hardesty, Emily Day, and Stephanie Day.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, her parents Henry Hartwell and Sophie Mae (Hensley) Smith; son Darrell Butler, daughter Linda Harmon, brother Henry Hartwell Smith, Jr.; sisters Betty Sue Ward, Patty Eloise Smith, Nona Inez Bell and Jean Hicklin Schellar.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Reverend William Allen officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery.
