Tony Smith

Mr. Tony Smith, 54, of Rector, AR., passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Smith was born August 15, 1967 in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was retired from T & A Towing. He was an avid demolition derby driver, enjoyed attending antique car shows, loved taking care of his horses and loved spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his children Ashley Smith of Malden, MO., Daniel Smith of East Prairie, MO., and Sarah Sawyers of Bernie, MO.; mother Gloria Sue Hatton of Malden, MO.; siblings Jessie Smith of Poplar Bluff, MO, Mary Turnbo of Saint Francis, AR., Kathy Carroll of Savannah, TN., Joyce Burks of Savannah, TN., Tommy Richardson of Pacific, MO., Lola Condray of Ellsinore, MO, Jerry Freeman of Frankford, MO, and Joey Freeman of Licking, MO; aunt Sylvia Kersey of Aid, MO.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Everett Richardson; grandchild Elisa Rose Smith; grandparents Theodore and Mary Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning. Graveside funeral service will follow Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Corning Cemetery with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating.
