Van Shephard

Mr. Charles Van Shephard, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, AR. Mr. Shephard was born in Corning, AR., on December 20, 1925. He was a long time Funeral Director here at Ermert Funeral Home. He enjoyed raising, caring for and showing horses. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corning.

He married his his wife Minnie Imogene (Kamerman) Shephard on June 1, 1947. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law Beverly and her husband Robert Allen of Little Rock, AR.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents John and Minnie (Cochrum) Shephard; son William “Bill” J. Shephard; brother Therman Shephard and sister-in-law Beverly Shephard.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Blue Hothouse officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
