Mr. Vandal Durbin, 64, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Durbin was born in Corning, AR., on May 2, 1948. He was a plumber's assistant and a auto-body technician. He enjoyed working with wood, trading arrowheads, hunting deer and rabbit and raising beagles. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He married his wife Debbie (Ashlock) Durbin on April 6, 1996, she survives. Other survivors include one son Brandon Durbin and wife Stephanie of Chattanooga, TN.; his mother Ann Guthery of Corning, AR.; three brothers Noel Durbin of Henderson, AR., Leon Guthery and wife Connie of Henderson, AR., Randy Guthery and wife Roxanne of DesMoines, IA.; two sisters Donna M. and husband Donnie Yandell of Corning, AR., Sonia M. and husband Goose Smith of Corning, AR.; two step-sons; three step-daughters; one granddaughter Miley Durbin; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father Everett Guthery; his grandparents; two very close uncles Willie Songer, Homer F. Dodson and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Meadors officiating. Burial will follow the services in Hite Cemetery near Biggers, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations would be made to the funeral home to pay expenses.
