Mrs. Velma Jean Miller, 83, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs. Miller was born August 18, 1928 in Palatka, AR. She a homemaker, she enjoyed flowers. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Corning.
She married her husband Samuel David Miller on June 16, 1945 in Corning, AR. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1983.
She is survived by three sons David Miller and wife Carol of Corning, AR., Lonnie Miller of Fairdealing, MO., Teddy Miller and wife Pat of Corning, AR.; two daughters Bethel and husband Allen Pyle of Tunica, MS., Lynn and husband Willy Ward of Sarah, MS; two sisters Virginia McDonald of Saint Louis, MO., Rita Poyner of Rockford, IL.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents Jesse J. and Christine (Cochran) Miller; and one sister Waneita Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Doug Burch and Les Pollard officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
